Hjerterommet

Hjerterommet is our reception area and the natural heart of the hotel. This is where you arrive, check in, meet, gather, and return throughout your stay. The room is defined by its color-drenched interior, generous seating areas, and carefully selected details that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Designed as a social meeting place, Hjerterommet is ideal for relaxed receptions, informal gatherings, mingling, serving, and smaller entertainment moments. The layout allows for both movement and conversation, whether guests are gathered around the bar, seated in lounge areas, or standing with a glass in hand.

The reception and bar are fully integrated into the space, making it a natural hub from morning until evening. Large windows provide views toward the station and across Finsevatnet, with Hardangerjøkulen glacier in the background.

Hjerterommet also opens directly onto a terrace overlooking Finsevatnet and Jøkulen, creating an easy indoor-outdoor flow and extending the room during warmer months.

It is a versatile and inviting space, a place to welcome, connect, and bring people together.

Jøkulsalen

Jøkulsalen is our largest meeting hall used primarily for dining, seamlessly connected to the restaurant. Here, meals share the same extraordinary setting, with panoramic views of Finsevatnet and Hardangerjøkulen glacier through large windows that frame the landscape.

The room is spacious and flexible, designed to accommodate private dinners and larger celebrations. It is well suited for larger and professional gatherings, equipped with projector and sound system, and can be arranged in multiple seating layouts depending on your needs.

Jøkulsalen comfortably hosts 20–80 guests. For larger occasions, it can be combined with Blåsalen to create an even more generous event space.

With its open views, adaptable layout and direct connection to the dining area, Jøkulsalen offers a setting that is both functional and distinctive.

Blåsalen

Blåsalen is a warm and inviting room that can be used on its own or in combination with Jøkulsalen for larger gatherings. With its more intimate scale and generous windows, it offers a setting that feels both focused and relaxed.

The room is well suited for smaller conferences, workshops, cultural events and private dinners. It can be arranged with theatre seating, classroom setup or long tables for shared meals, depending on the occasion. Blåsalen works particularly well for groups of 15–40 guests and can accommodate up to 45 people.

With soft furnishings, flexible layout options and views toward the surrounding landscape, Blåsalen creates an atmosphere that encourages both concentration and conversation. Whether used for presentations during the day or dining and performances in the evening, it offers a versatile and characterful space.

St.Paul

St. Paul is one of the hotel’s historic rooms, carefully restored to reflect its original character. Connected directly to the Spisesalen, it forms part of the natural flow through the dining area, with guests passing through as they move in and out.

Rather than being secluded, St. Paul feels open and integrated, an intimate room in scale, yet very much part of the hotel’s social rhythm. It is well suited for smaller dining groups, casual seating, or as an extension of larger dinners, adding flexibility and variation to the overall dining experience.

With its classic details and warm atmosphere, St. Paul brings character and movement to the space, a historic room that feels alive and connected.

Spisesalen

Spisesalen is one of the hotel’s historic main rooms, restored to reflect its original character while adapted for today’s gatherings. With its generous ceiling height, classic details and large windows facing the landscape, it offers a setting that feels both grand and welcoming.

The room is primarily used for our breakfast buffet, however in larger gatherings, it can be arranged with long tables, creating a strong sense of community around the table. It also functions as an extension of Jøkulsalen, allowing the spaces to merge seamlessly for bigger events.

With its historic atmosphere and flexible layout, it provides a distinctive framework for everything from conference dinners to celebrations and milestone occasions.

Peisestuen & Biblioteket

Peisstuen is one of the hotel’s original living rooms, an intimate and character-filled space centered around a large fireplace. With its polar library, long tables, sofa areas, chess boards and classic games, it offers a warm and relaxed setting within the hotel.

The room invites slower moments, conversations by the fire, informal meetings, strategy sessions, or quiet time with a book. It is well suited for workshops, group work, breakout sessions and social gatherings in a more informal atmosphere.

With flexible seating arrangements, Peisstuen accommodates groups of 6–35 guests. Combining history, comfort and function, it is a space designed for presence, focus and shared moments.

Nordvesten

Nordvesten is our modern meeting room, located half a floor above the reception. Designed for smaller groups, it offers a calm and private setting for focused conversations and efficient working sessions.

The room is ideal for board meetings, workshops and strategy sessions, accommodating 10–18 guests depending on setup. Its clean lines and contemporary interior create a professional yet comfortable atmosphere, well suited for concentrated work.

Nordvesten can function as a standalone meeting space or as a supplement to larger arrangements in the hotel, perfect for breakout sessions or executive groups who require a dedicated room of their own.

Klemsbu Cabin

Klemsbu Cabin is a small, charming mountain cabin tucked into the open landscape near Finse.

The cabin is seasonally open in winter, and reached by skiis from the hotel, a journey most people describe as a half-day trip, usually around 4–6 hours, depending on weather and snow conditions. The route is clearly marked with wooden sticks.

The cabin is run by fabulous volunteer hosts and therefore opening hours are dependent on weather and conditions. When staffed, you’ll be welcomed into a simple and cosy space where you can warm up with coffee or hot toddy and freshly made waffles. Come in and warm up by the fire!

- Once confirmed, we recommend purchasing train tickets shortly after signing up to secure best prices as they tend to go up the closer in date to departure.

Framheim

Framheim is a small historic building located beside Hotel Finse 1222, overlooking Finsevatnet and the surrounding mountain landscape.

The house is inspired by Framheim, the famous base camp used during Roald Amundsen’s South Pole expedition, reflecting Finse’s long connection to polar exploration and Arctic training. The building carries a sense of expedition history and the pioneering spirit that has drawn explorers and adventurers to Finse for generations.

Today, Framheim is used as a unique and atmospheric space for smaller gatherings, private dinners, meetings, and special events. The setting feels both secluded and connected to the landscape.

With its simple character, historic references, and quiet surroundings, Framheim offers a distinctive setting that brings together nature, history, and the spirit of exploration.

Boggien

Boggien is our quirky nightclub, full of character and a bit of hidden magic. With a sunken dance floor, beer bar, long table seating, and lights & music ready to go, it’s the perfect space to let loose.

Despite being ‘underground’, windows look out toward the glacier, adding a unique twist to the atmosphere.

Open on request, Boggien is ideal for private events, celebrations, and weddings.

RENTAL SHOP

Our rental shop is the perfect starting point for exploring Finse and the surrounding mountain landscape, whether by bike in summer or on skis in winter.

During the summer season, we offer bike rentals for guests heading out on local rides or the iconic Rallarvegen route. We also carry a selection of extra equipment, including gel seats and bike panniers.

In winter, the shop becomes the base for our ski sailing courses, alongside ski rental for those heading into the snowy landscape around Finse.

You’ll find our opening hours here, and our knowledgeable guides are always happy to share local tips, route advice, and recommendations. Feel free to stop by, whether you need equipment, inspiration, or simply a chat before heading out into the mountains.
