Join us for a weekend where food, nature and local stories come together. Meet the people behind the flavours, discover what makes mountain ingredients so special, and enjoy a weekend shaped by the landscape around us. From local food and a special multi-course dinner to a morning dip in Finsevann, our new wood-fired sauna, live music and plenty of time by the fire. Mountain air, local flavours, good company are included, and a true taste of Finse.

There’s a lot more to Finse than meets the eye. Join Trygve Nordmann, a previous owner of Hotel Finse 1222 and local Finse enthusiast, for a journey through the fascinating history of this little mountain village and some of the nature, people and stories that have shaped it.

Start the day with a refreshing swim! We'll have the fire pit lit, reindeer hides laid out to keep you warm, and fresh coffee served outdoors. Towels will be available by the fire pit.

From Mountain Pasture to Plate
What makes mountain lamb taste like mountain lamb? We’re joined by Odd Ohnstad from Haugen Gardsmat to learn more about the animals grazing in the mountain areas around Finse and how their surroundings influence the final ingredient. Odd will also demonstrate how a whole lamb is broken down into its different cuts and share how the different parts can be put to good use in the kitchen.

Smak av Finse Festive Dinner
Welcome to a culinary expedition. Our Head Chef, Bader, has been on a culinary journey through Aurland, Flåm, Undredal, Voss and Ulvik, searching for ingredients, traditions and flavours that tell the story of the landscape around us. Tonight, it all comes together in a special multi-course dinner celebrating local produce, the people behind it and the mountains and fjords we call home.

A Taste of Finse - At the Bar
The kitchen isn’t the only team exploring local flavours! Our Bar Manager, Pablo, has been taking inspiration from the areas around Finse to create a brand-new menu of signature drinks. Tonight, we’ll be introducing them for the first time. Skål! 🥂

Live Music with Kristian
You’ll probably recognise Kristian from the morning swim, firing up the fire, pouring coffee and leading the brave into Finsevann. Come evening, you’ll find him with a guitar in hand instead. Grab a drink, find a cosy spot and enjoy some familiar favourites and good company.
