New Trains Are Coming to the Bergen Line
Anyone who has travelled the Bergen Line knows that the journey itself is part of the experience, and Norway’s new long-distance trains look set to make it even better. Newly released interior images show bright, modern spaces designed with comfort and scenery in mind, from large panoramic windows to quieter seating areas and flexible sleeper compartments for overnight travel.
The new trains are being built by Stadler specifically for Norwegian conditions and will eventually operate on routes including the Bergen Line. Alongside updated interiors, there is also a strong focus on accessibility, family travel, and creating a calmer, more enjoyable atmosphere for longer journeys across the mountains. If everything stays on schedule, the first trains are expected to enter service from 2028.
