The snow has melted, the trails around Finse are open, and we're excited to invite you to Finse Top 10, a mountain hiking challenge hosted in collaboration between Hotel Finse 1222 & DNT Finsehytta
The 10 Peaks
Each of the 10 peaks offers something a little different, with hikes ranging in length and difficulty. Most are easy to find, but some routes leave the marked trails and cross open mountain terrain, so be sure to bring a map, compass, or GPS device.
Vesle Finsenuten– A Finse classic! Follow the marked trail to the summit and enjoy spectacular views in every direction. 2–3 hours round trip.
Sankt Pål – One of the area's most popular viewpoints, with a marked trail all the way to the top. 4–5 hours round trip.
Kvannjolnuten – A relatively easy hike to a peaceful summit with beautiful, wide-open mountain views. 2–3 hours round trip.
Store Finsenuten – One of Finse's most iconic peaks and a favourite among visitors. 3–4 hours round trip.
Internasjonalen – A short and easy hike with great views over Finse and the surrounding mountains. About 2 hours round trip.
Sandalsnuten – A lovely day hike from Finse, covering around 8 km. About 3 hours.
Finsesåta – Venture off the marked trails to this beautiful summit, where you'll be rewarded with stunning views of Hallingskarvet. About 3 hours round trip.
Jomfrunuten – An easy walk on a well-marked trail with fantastic views of Hallingskarvet and Hardangerjøkulen. 2–3 hours round trip.
Gjætarguthaugen – A quieter, less-visited summit for those looking to get off the beaten track. About 4 hours round trip.
Flakavassnuten – The highest peak in Vinje Municipality. This is a challenging full-day adventure across mostly unmarked, rocky terrain, with a few easy scrambling sections. The route is approximately 17 km round trip and takes around 9 hours.
